I guess I just got caught up in the chase,
Lingering on every word you'd say.
And everything I knew was never right,
I was right,
Was all wrong--
I was all wrong tonight.
Who are you to judge my kind of life?
You're just like me, still blinded by the light.
But it's all wrong,
You were all wrong tonight.
Baby, what did you expect me to say?
What did you expect me to do?
You never wanted me to stay,
And I never wanted you.
It's so gone.
You were never really here,
And I was never really here.
We're good and gone.
You don't ever look the other way,
But you're never begging me to stay.
You want me gone, but never gone enough
To ever have me out of touch.
It's wrong.
It's so wrong.
I don't know how much more I can take.
I need you gone, but not too far away.
I need you here; I want you out of sight.
Don't want to feel; I want you to hold me tonight.
Baby, what did you expect me to say?
What did you expect me to do?
You never wanted me to stay,
And I never wanted you.
It's so gone.
But you were never really here.
And I was never really here.
We're good and gone.
I guess I just got caught up in the chase,
Lingering on every word you'd say.
And you got high on every kiss you'd taste.
But it's all wrong.

Standby
You think all I know is what you told me,
But all I know is that you only
Want me when you're feeling lonely.
You want her, Baby, but that's the old me.
You think I don't know all about her.
But you really don't know anything about me.
You know my name, yeah, you've got my number.
You know everything that makes me weak.
Chorus: But you don't know that I won't be answering you tonight.
You don't know a single reason, yeah, you don't know why.
You held my hand not knowing I had other plans in mind.
And just like that, you kissed me goodbye.
Because I can't stand to standby.
I tell you that I like the way you smile, and
You say you like mine, too. But it's not the same.
You explain your game and ask me if it's alright.
It's not, but I say yes anyway.
You think I don't know anything you're doing.
You think I think you're telling me the truth.
I don't want tangled in the mess you've made,
But here I am tangled up in you.
Chorus
I can't standby for too much longer--
I've tried--
Waiting in between you wanting her and me.
I said it was alright,
But I lied.
You think all I know is what you told me,
But all I know is that you only
Want me when you're feeling lonely.
Chorus
And just like that you kissed me goodbye,
Because I can't stand to standby.
But all I know is that you only
Want me when you're feeling lonely.
You want her, Baby, but that's the old me.
You think I don't know all about her.

This Song For You
I can't move the mountains.
I can't calm the sea.
I can't make you better.
And I can't make you love me.
But I can try my best.
And I can hold your hand.
I can give you everything,
Everything I am.
And even if that's not enough for you,
I'll still write this song for you.
I can't keep pretending,
Confused and full of doubt.
And I can't keep waiting
For you to come around.
This is not goodbye.
This is just for now.
It's all the space you wanted
To hold onto someone else.
And even if it's not enough for you,
I'll still write this song for you.
I won't wait forever.
I'll give you one more night.
If she wants forever,
That's fine.
I found all the reasons
We would never work.
So, I'm going to leave
Even if it hurts.
And even if it's nothing at all to you,
I'll still write this song for you.
And even if it means nothing for me to say all this to you,
There will always be this song for you.
I can't calm the sea.
I can't make you better.
And I can't make you love me.
But I can try my best.
And I can hold your hand.
I can give you everything,
Everything I am.
And even if that's not enough for you,
I'll still write this song for you.
I can't keep pretending,
Confused and full of doubt.
And I can't keep waiting
For you to come around.
This is not goodbye.
This is just for now.
It's all the space you wanted

Standing at the East Coast
If God made the world,
Where is He now?
He realized His mistakes,
And He had to leave town
And never be found.
I'm kind of like that.
Once I go, there's no coming back.
The breezes are nice.
The sunsets are fine,
But I can't see anything but the one in your eyes
When I told you I was gone.
I told you not to write.
I paid for my gasoline
And got on with my life.
I'm sleeping in a motel in California.
I'm headed back to the East Coast.
Told myself I'd never ever phone ya
I'm driving right past West Virginia.
You wrecked my world,
And where are you now?
Holding onto someone
In the back of a pickup.
And I need you to know,
I don't like that.
But I knew once I left, you'd never look back.
But I'm at it, too.
I've found someone new
In every major city I found my way into.
I'm empty inside,
But then I see the city skylines
And I'm a little more fine.
I'm sleeping in a motel in California.
I left you at the East Coast.
I told myself I'd never ever phone ya
Once I made it out of West Virginia.
I'll head to London in the morning
While you're standing at the East Coast
Wondering if I'll ever be returning
While that girl is right there yearning for your love.
If God made the world,
Where is He now?
He realized His mistakes,
And He had to leave town
And never be found.
I'm kind of like that.
Once I go, there's no coming back.

Nobody Stop Me Now
I've got plans,
But I'm stuck in
This tiny two horse town.
I've got dreams,
But I'm living
In a spiral that's always headed down.
In this town, you either sink or swim.
You stay put or you're disappearing.
And I can tell you one thing now:
I won't be sticking around.
[chorus] I'm taking the next flight out.
I'm gonna get lost, don't wanna be found.
Living's gonna start right now.
And I won't come back;
I won't miss a thing,
'Cause I'm not who I want to be.
I'm taking the next flight out.
So, nobody stop me now.
These streets know every word,
Every memory,
Every hurt.
And I know who's in that truck
Drivin' down my street,
And I remember everything.
I want to step out my front door
And not recognize a single soul.
They don't know a thing about me.
That's the kind of thing I need.
[chorus]
Nobody's tracking me down.
Nobody's begging me to stay.
And even if somebody did, I wouldn't anyway.
This time I just got to go.
This time I just got to do
Everything I've always wanted to.
[chorus x2]
I've got plans.
I'm leaving
This tiny two horse town.
But I'm stuck in
This tiny two horse town.
I've got dreams,
But I'm living
In a spiral that's always headed down.
In this town, you either sink or swim.
You stay put or you're disappearing.
And I can tell you one thing now:

I've got plans.
I'm leaving
This tiny two horse town.

It's With You
I was a quiet girl in my own world.
I was making plans and lending hands,
Trying to stay out of everybody else's way.
You were a rebel child with your eyes wide,
Searching for a better life,
Stumblin' 'round and falling in my way.
You should have seen my hands start shaking.
I was trembling at the knees.
You're the leaving kind;
That's not what I need.
But, now,
I don't know where my heart went,
But it walked away with you.
And I don't know where my mind is,
But I'm thinking that you do.
Something is going on around here;
I can't quite put my finger on it.
Please hang around,
Don't leave me like you do.
Two roads will combine to one,
Take you back to where you started from,
To the places you call home and all those people that you love.
But not for me.
So I stayed hidden in the shadows of the trees.
It was the same for you, until you stumbled into me.
You should have heard my stomach drop,
And you had to do all the talking.
But then you turned away, and just kept on,
You kept on walking.
And, now,
I don't know where my heart went,
But it walked away with you.
And I don't know where my mind is,
But I'm thinking that you do.
Something is going on around here;
I can't quite put my finger on it.
Please hang around,
Don't leave me like you do.
I don't know where my heart went
When it left with you that day.
Even though I think about you,
It didn't matter anyway.
'Cause you found love in someone else,
And I found myself along the way.
All I hope is that you think of me some days.
I don't know where my heart went,
But it walked away with you.
I don't know where my mind is,
But it's with you.
I was making plans and lending hands,
Trying to stay out of everybody else's way.

Love, Come Save Me Now
The river's running,
And I'm running upstream.
I'm going down, down, down it seems.
I can't explain what's happening to me.
I'm going down, it seems.
The people on the bank
Stand staring at me.
I'm going down, down, down it seems.
I'm losing my grip.
I can't catch my breath.
I'm going down, down, is it over yet?
And I can hear the angels calling,
But I don't want to answer them.
I don't want to say a thing.
They say, 'Pull yourself together.
Today, it isn't over.'
And all I could help to say was,
'Love, come save me now.'
The tide is rising,
And I'm in too deep.
I'm going down, down, down it seems.
The stars in the night, shine,
Laughing at me.
I'm going down it seems.
The people on the shore
Stand staring at me.
I'm going down, down, down it seems.
I'm losing my grip.
I can't take a breath.
I'm going down, down, it's not over yet.
'Cause I can hear the angels singing.
And I don't need to answer them.
I don't need to say a thing.
'Cause they'll say, 'Pull yourself together.
Tonight, it isn't over.'
And all I want to say is,
'Love, come save me now.'
The sun is shining through,
Waking my sleep.
I'm going down, down, down, it seems.
To the bank by the river,
To hear the angels sing,
I'm going down, down, down it seems
To hear the angels calling.
Tonight, I'm going to answer them.
I know what I want to say.
When they say, 'Pull yourself together.
Tonight, it isn't over.'
All I have to ask of them is,
'Love, come save me now.'
Love, come save me now.
And I'm running upstream.
I'm going down, down, down it seems.
I can't explain what's happening to me.
I'm going down, it seems.
